Come and listen!!!

Come and listen, come and listen to what He's done!

So as you should know, since it's all I've been talking about the past 3 weeks, my thesis was due this past Sunday. And I know you all know the huge mountain, the impossible feat, the ridiculous amount of work to do in virtually no time...

By the grace of God (and I mean that whole-heartedly), I was able to write my findings chapter before I left for Nicaragua. When I came back from Nicaragua (I'll post about that in a little bit) I wasn't feeling well from the side effects of the malaria medicine I was taking, so I didn't start working on my literature review chapter OR conclusions until Thursday night (giving me about 75 hours to do it).

I turned it in this past Sunday about 10:30pm, 88 pages total.

Come and listen, come and listen to what He's done!

I called one of my professors yesterday and she said that they thought we were good to go with the April 19th defense date. She said that mostly what she had been correcting was citation problems, I'd forget to put a comma between the author and date, or a space between the period and the page number...out of 127 markings throughout the document, 110 were minor APA citation problems, 5 were encouraging, and only 12 were suggestions to add a transition sentence/paragraph between a chapter, or changing a term to an official qualitative term.

ARE YOU KIDDING ME.

Praise our God, for He is good! (dcb)

I still haven't really processed all this yet, and am waiting for the defense date, but I am completely aware of how HE has done this and not me. It was not possible in my own strength. The people who've told me their stories of thesis/dissertation writing tell of long nights or many months of work...they tell of emotional breakdowns and disheartening meetings with their committee. Even if the defense doesn't go as planned, it doesn't matter because God will be getting all the glory for this whole process. He deserves it.

But I thought I'd share some motivational lyrics from my thesis theme song list, and show you some of my creations throughout my 75 hour writing session...

It's the eye of the tiger, it's the cream of the fight; rising up to the challenge of our rival.

Better stand tall when they're calling you out, don't bend, don't break baby don't back down!

So as you can see, this had nothing to do with me. :)

Hope this leaves you encouraged,
db
