I always go back and forth about making privacy settings that restrict access to this baby, but then it's really just a hassle. And am I really saying things that are revealing? Bah. ALIAS makes me think everyone is out to get me!
I don't know about Blogger, but WordPress allows you a feature to "password" certain posts. I love that. So then, the casual readers can pop by and see what we're up to, but if I want to post more personal or sensitive stories/content, it's safe.....anyway, you might look into that kind of option.
